RIP-Eggnog-Liquor

Eggnog Liquor

Ingredients
  • 3½ cups/830 ml milk (regular, coconut or almond; do not use non-fat)
  • ¾ cup/180 ml of Everclear 151 or 190 proof grain alcohol
  • ¾ ounce/20 g organic pure cane sugar (no substitutes, artificial sweeteners, or   confectioner’s sugar, please)
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 2 cloves

How To
  1. Place milk and sugar in your MagicalButter machine.
  2. Press the Temperature button, and select 160°F/71°C; then press the 1 Hour/Oil button.
  3. After the cycle is complete, remove the head from the machine, and allow the milk to cool completely.
  4. Add egg yolks, alcohol, and cloves.
  5. Press the Temperature button, and select No Heat*; then press the 1 Hour/Oil button.
  6. After the cycle is completed, strain the eggnog into a bottle or other container.
  7. Let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 48 hours to allow full flavor infusion before enjoying your Eggnog Liqueur. Your patience will be richly rewarded!
  8. Store your Eggnog Liqueur in the refrigerator, and enjoy it within 30 days.

* If your MB model does not feature a No Heat option, you can instead run it through several consecutive Clean cycles.

Everyone seems to have that one recipe which has been passed on from generation to generation. My personal Christmas favorite is Eggnog Liqueur.
